An Honorable Tribute to Tressel Catches National Attention

July 6, 2011

9-1 against Michigan

6-4 in Bowl Games

Jim Tressel gave 10 years of great football to Ohio State and the fans.

Ohio State football fans are passionate about their team – and the leader of their team. In fact, some dedicated fans wanted to make sure Coach Tressel knew his great football efforts and the 10 years he gave hasn’t been forgotten. I’m proud to say the passionate OSU fans who created the Tribute to Tressel float that represented in the Westerville, Ohio 4th of July parade are dear friends of mine. Their creativity and heart towards supporting not only a college team they love to cheer for year after year, but also its leaders, is remarkable and honorable. Yes, Jim Tressel is now the former head coach of The Ohio State University football buckeyes and his fall from grace was a hard knock. And though national sports media believes his mistake trumps any football success record, true OSU football fans, like the creators of the Tribute to Tressel float, strongly disagree.

Special thanks to Mindy Drayer and NBC 4 Columbus for the positive coverage of the Tribute to Tressel float: //Watch this at WCMH

As for the national media outlets’ negative publicity of the Tressel Vessel, we appreciate the national

focus of our humble tribute to Coach Tressel. We’re sure Coach is proud and appreciative of our efforts.

Oh, and check out the Ohio State Scandal Score Card, which lists each accusation made and where the accusation stands. The only

accusations still standing, or confirmed, are those the NCAA already knows about.
